About the role

As a Resource Manager at propelland, your role will be to create and drive the best practices in project management and resourcing of staff across multiple project teams and North American studios.
In this pivotal role, you will be working as part of a large production team, determining staffing requirements, providing ongoing support to project managers and client leads, and collaborating on resource management with teams within our organization – both local and global.  You will be driving the tools and processes to enable a more accessible and sustainable system overall for our North American business.  You will be accelerating the ability to make decisions on current and potential projects, as well as optimizing team health and utilization rates.
To ensure your success as a Resource Manager, you should possess extensive knowledge of project management and resource allocation and ideally have experience in a design and/or engineering consultancy.  The ideal candidate will be someone who can accurately build frameworks to run projects through consistent phases, assess resource needs, and provide sufficient capacity to realize projects’ goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Set guidelines for consistent management of projects across the studio.
  • Assign available staff to projects based on their skills and experience.
  • Hire new staff in accordance with project budgets.
  • Provide project leads with ongoing resource management and related support.
  • Monitor employee utilization, workload, and overtime hours.
  • Mitigate resource concerns by reallocating resources, adjusting goals, or assigning additional staff.
  • Assist with HR processes, such as payroll administration, compensation and benefit plans, and staff training.
  • Collaborate on resource management with internal departments.
  • Document processes and maintaining records.
  • Keep informed on labor laws and trends in resource management.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • At least 5 years experience in project management/resource management in a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in human resources and project management software.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
