Role description

As a Senior Interaction Designer at propelland you will lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create integrated design solutions for a diversity of industries, scale and mediums. In this role you get exposure to and involvement with many parts of the design process: user research, ideation, concept development, prototyping, and working with developers to deliver new products, services, and business experiences.

We add value to people’s lives through design. Our goal is to create work that resonates as desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable. Interaction Designers sit right in that sweet spot – caring about what people need, and making beautiful, engaging experiences for them.

You should have 5+ years of experience working in human-centered design, UX/UI design, Product Design, or Interaction Design

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Get to work with people from diverse backgrounds (like design strategist, business designers, creative technologist, and engineers); together you’ll prototype and quickly bring ideas to life.
  • Work across diverse industries to uncover opportunities, define requirements, and develop stand-out design solutions.
  • Independently lead UX for a variety product and service types, to discover, imagine, and execute optimal, business-appropriate user experiences.
  • Plan workshops to uncover, and then clearly articulate the business and technology opportunities and constraints that will inform the product possibilities.
  • Design and carry out research programs to understand product opportunities, user needs, product/market fit, and usability, as called for by each project.
  • Identify and analyze the features of analogous products to benchmark patterns and opportunities.
  • Create well-targeted personas that define user concerns to address in the product design.
  • Develop and document briefs, storyboards, and other deliverables that describe the desired experiences to project stakeholders and product teams.
  • Develop interaction architectures and digital sketches for hardware and software interfaces that elegantly accommodate the desired features.
  • Mentor designers as they develop all the above skills.
  • Support and enhance the culture of collaborative design at Propelland.
  • Own projects and deliverables, big and small. The details matter, and you’re committed to getting it done right.

  • 5+ years of working experience in designing digital product, service, and experience from ideation to implementation.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a sophisticated approach to business, technology, and experience requirements in interaction design across multiple industries.
  • You can clearly articulate the process, approach, and impact of your design in verbal, written, and visual presentation.
  • You can identify key challenges and the correct methodologies to address those challenges.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and moderate research studies and synthesize observations into insights and opportunities.
  • Experience with how design systems can be used to organize, standardize, and enhance digital systems.
  • You are fluent in fundamental interaction design skills, translating stakeholder goals and user research into elegant user flows, wireframes, and mockups.
  • You can create beautiful user interfaces with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. You also have a point of view on what good interaction design is about.
  • Fluent in prototyping using tools like AfterEffects, Principle, etc.
  • Have experience collaborating with engineering teams in agile. A big plus if you can code (JS/CSS/HTML/Objective-C, etc.)
  • You effectively convey your opinions to peers directly with clear expertise and humility. You encourage others to challenge or build upon your opinions.

NOTE: International candidates must hold a valid US working permit.
