Role description 

As a Senior Design Strategist at propelland, your role is to guide project teams and provide strategic oversight to successfully identify and manage tradeoffs between business and user needs. You will work hand in hand with cross-functional teams, leveraging your proactivity and resourcefulness to adapt to changing project needs. Throughout the process, your core responsibility is to advocate for both client and user needs and to motivate he team in delivering solutions backed up by a compelling business case and informed by market and human insights, to realize untapped value for our clients.

You will have 5-7 years of experience working in human-centered design, service design, design research, business design, or customer experience projects.

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Help clients discover, design, prototype, and launch new businesses, products, services, and experiences, translating behavioral insights from design-led methods into viable business opportunities
  • Work hand in hand with Strategy Leads to deliver client value and support growth
  • Own the process and project management to deliver high quality deliverables
  • Guide and collaborate with teams of designers, engineers, and fellow strategists to design and build solutions that you feel genuinely proud of
  • Direct and produce artifacts to convey value propositions, including personas, journey maps, service blueprints, business model canvases, and high-level business cases
  • Choose frameworks according to the brief or challenge that leverage design thinking, business fundamentals, service design, and project management
  • Estimate the time and effort required to deliver on milestones and deliverables, and own project planning for yourself and the team
  • Stay curious to bring relevant trends and market insights to all types of projects by participating in critiques and ideation sessions
  • Adapt to new challenges and switch context quickly to contribute to projects across a variety of industries
  • Solve challenges ranging from problem-identification, solution ideation and definition, prototyping and validation, all the way to go-to-market launch

In your previous team environments, you developed the experience to successfully:

  • Facilitate and lead communications between different team members working on the same project to ensure on-time, quality deliverables
  • Contribute to conversations with clients at different levels, from the plant floor to C-Suite level executives
  • Bring a strategic lens and point of view to push the work forward and exceed client expectations
  • Own the craftmanship of research plans and interview guides, as well as insights analysis and user interviews
  • Organize the information to guide internal dialogue and ideation, and refine key messages for client and external stakeholder conversations
  • Craft and deliver stories for client-facing assets like presentations
  • Identify industry trends and connect the dots to craft opportunity areas, high-level business cases, estimates, and presentations to support business development efforts
  • Condense and clearly communicate key takeaways and next steps with the audience in mind
  • Thrive in ambiguity and create order from chaos
  • Break the ice internally and externally to develop rapport with team members and clients
